FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: IN OPPOSITION TO KOSA (S.1409)

The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) is a proposed federal bill with support of both capitalist parties.

The bill has been pitched under the familiar and disingenuous banner of “Protecting Kids”.

We (I) oppose this bill. A Proposed federal law which hands power to individual State Attorneys General to decide what content is deemed safe and what will be censored is reckless and dangerous.

Considering the rise of hate crimes against LGBTQ+ individuals and the rise of state sponsored hate bills against gender affirming care in particular, we (I) believe this relegation of power will be driven by the lowest common denominator and used to censor and silence members of the LGBTQ+ community, nationally.

This bill can and will be used to censor content related to reproductive rights support, education related to race, gender, indigenous history, medical science and mental health in general.

We oppose this oppressive bill and condemn its supporters. Including Senator Warren

The Boston Coalition for Palestine issued the following media advisory Dec. 29.

Sunday, Dec 31, 5:00 P.M. EST, JFK Federal Building, Boston: The Boston Coalition for Palestine will be the largest public group at this year’s First Night because the people of Massachusetts want an end to the genocide of Palestinians. This is the most important issue of 2023 and will be the most important issue of 2024. Most Americans want a cease–fire.

Massachusetts politicians have failed to listen to their constituents on this issue.

“Israel has moved to the next phase of genocide, reminiscent of what my grandparents went through in 1947 and 1948. The situation could not be more urgent,” said Lea Kayali, an organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement.

“Palestinians are burying their loved ones in mass graves in public parks, streets, and roundabouts. People are dying of hunger and treatable illnesses. Israel is trying to make up for its military failure by inflicting as much suffering as possible on the Palestinian people. Nowhere is safe.

“But our people remain steadfast, and we must support them. Palestinians are calling this the American-Zionist aggression, because they know that the U.S. is funding the murder of their loved ones. Enough is enough!”

During a campaign of violence with no end in sight, Israel has massacred at least 21,636 Palestinians, including nearly 8,300 children. Thousands more remain missing, trapped under the rubble, their deaths unreported. U.S. media continue to abdicate their journalistic responsibilities.

In the last month, Israeli occupation forces have kidnapped Palestinian civilians, stripped them down, and paraded them through the streets. Some have been summarily executed. “An urgent international investigation must be opened into horrific crimes committed by the Israeli army … including field executions, torture and rape threats,” said Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor.

Israel’s politicians and military leaders have consistently voiced a contempt for civilian life and demonstrated a commitment to cleanse all Palestinians from Gaza. Amid a disgraceful U.S. media whiteout, Israel pursues a daily campaign of mass extermination against the Palestinian people.

On Sunday, the coalition will call for an immediate and permanent cease-fire in Gaza. Participants will demand an end to the siege of Gaza, an end to Israel’s occupation of all Palestinian land and apartheid against its people and an end to all U.S. aid to Israel.

WORKERS PARTY OF MASSACHUSETTS CANDIDATES SUPPORT BOSTON RALLY TO DEMAND A CEASEFIRE IN GAZA

Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 1 pm - Copley Square, Boston

Boston, MA - Workers Party of Massachusetts candidates Brandon Griffin for U S. Senate and Andrew Nelson for State Representative 2nd Bristol stand in solidarity with the Boston Coalition for Palestine, a diverse alliance comprising over 30 community, cultural, labor, political, religious, indigenous, anti-war, and student groups, who are set to rally once again in Copley Square on Sunday, November 12. The event will express unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and reiterate key demands for immediate global attention.

The coalition maintains its steadfast calls for an end to the ongoing genocide of Palestinians and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Participants will also demand an end to the siege of Gaza, an end to Israel’s occupation of all Palestinian land and apartheid against its people, an end to all U.S. aid to Israel, and liberation for Palestine.

Since this coalition rallied three weeks ago, the number of people killed by Israel has almost tripled, rising to over 11,200 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, including more than 4,500 children. Thousands more remain missing, likely dead and trapped under the rubble, while millions suffer from a severe shortage of food, clean water, and basic medical care. Among the dead are 34 Palestinian journalists, making it the deadliest month for media workers ever reported.

Amid an eruption of protests across the world calling for a ceasefire, Israeli politicians have used genocidal, dehumanizing rhetoric to justify their ethnic cleansing campaign. In an October 16th speech to the Knesset, Benjamin Netanyahu said, "This is a struggle between the children of light and the children of darkness, between humanity and the law of the jungle." As U.S. media outlets bend over backwards to justify massacres, Israeli politicians are unabashedly calling for the mass extermination of the people whose land they have stolen.

For over a month, Israel has continued its horrific bombing campaign unabated, damaging or destroying at least 250,000 housing units, or over 40% of all housing in Gaza, along with hundreds of schools and medical facilities. Israel has also begun a ground invasion of Gaza, all while continuing to enact a blockade on water, food, fuel, and electricity, and allowed in virtually no humanitarian aid.

Israel’s actions over the past month have displaced 1.5 million people in Gaza, and the Israeli Intelligence Ministry issued a proposal to permanently transfer the entirety of Gaza’s 2.3 million people to Egypt’s Sinai peninsula. This ethnic cleansing reproduces the ongoing Nakba (“Catastrophe” in Arabic), which began when Israel violently displaced more than 750,000 Palestinians from their homes in 1947-48 and forced them to seek refuge in Gaza and elsewhere. Most of these Palestinian refugees were never able to return; those who remained in Gaza — one of the most densely populated areas on Earth — live in a concentration camp.

Palestinians throughout historic Palestine are facing violent repression as well. The Knesset passed a law emboldening police to arrest Palestinian citizens of Israel for passively following Palestinian social media outlets. In the West Bank, Occupation forces have killed over 180 Palestinians and are rounding up and arresting people en masse.

The masses, in turn, protest in an increasingly hostile and racist environment. Students for Justice in Palestine chapters at universities such as MIT, Columbia, and Brandeis are suspended or deregistered, and confronted with police brutality. Repression of solidarity with Palestine is spiraling out of control across the United States.

The U.S. government funds this genocidal campaign using U.S. taxpayers’ dollars, while U.S. media organizations provide moral cover for Israel and its war crimes. The U.S. government must stop providing military funding and diplomatic cover to the genocide of the Palestinian people.

People in the greater Boston area will be rallying to make these demands on Sunday at 1 pm.

11.11.2023 - ON THE CONTINUED BOMBING OF PALESTINE

I condemn The Israeli Defense Force and their continued assault on The Palestinian People. I condemn Israeli Allies in The West who have, for decades, funded, aided and abetted the occupation of Palestine and the systematic slaughter of its people.

The United States has failed to offer even the slightest, meaningful call for a ceasefire, despite being in a position to do so.

I call for an immediate end to the bombing and occupation of Palestine by the apartheid state of Israel.

09.04.2023 - CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCEMENT

Today, I am announcing that I have accepted the nomination to be the Workers Party of Massachusetts Candidate for The US Senate seat currently held by Elizabeth Warren.

I accept this nomination not out of ambition or for personal gain but out of necessity in these days of worsening conditions for the working class.

I am honored to represent an independent working class political party and will hold true the principles of revolutionary socialism as outlined in our party program.

Both the Democratic and Republican parties are organizations built to uphold the capitalist system. These parties have differences among themselves when it comes to the specific ways that the working class should be exploited. But they are united in their commitment to a destructive system that has outlived its usefulness. Until we develop a Workers Party of our own, we will continue to be used and betrayed by these parties that rule against our interests.

In the past 6 years alone, The Republican and Democrat duopoly, as represented by Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and in Massachusetts by Elizabeth Warren have worked together to:

- Mismanage a global pandemic, costing millions of lives.

- Intervene in labor disputes on behalf of the capitalist class and against the workers - the most egregious case being Joe Biden and Congress acting to break a railroad strike and diminish the power of rail unions.

- Continue funding NATO aggression in Ukraine and the US imperialist war machine. The endless flow of tax dollars for militarism is a massive theft from the working class.

The Workers Party of Massachusetts has entrusted me to deliver our message and represent our goals for a revolutionary transformation of society. A society free of capitalism and the many injustices it creates and perpetuates - endless war, police oppression, unequal access to health care, homelessness and housing insecurity, mass incarceration, environmental destruction, and bigotry.

The working class in the United States has never experienced freedom in our working lives but we've experienced the brutality of the free market and although it may seem hopeless at times I can assure you there is a world within reach beyond the capitalist system of exploitation, a better world.

In the words of 20th century union organizer and Socialist Party politician Eugene Debs:

"I'd rather vote for something I want and not get it than vote for something I don't want, and get it"

"The capitalist class despises a working class party. Why should the working class give their support to a capitalist class party? Capitalist misrule under which workingmen suffer slavery and the most galling injustice exists only because it has workingmen's support. Withdraw that support and capitalism is dead. The capitalists can enslave and rob the workers only by the consent of the workers when they cast their ballots on election day. Every vote cast for a capitalist party, whatever its name, is a vote for wage-slavery, for poverty and degradation---"
